About Michael Chang
Michael Chang focuses his practice areas on employment and labor disputes, including employee misclassification, discrimination based on race, disability, sex, gender, and age, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Highly experienced in matters related to the Fair Employment and Housing Act, he is an advocate at heart for employees of all backgrounds receiving unfair treatment in the workplace.
Mr. Chang previously served as staff counsel for a Fortune 500 company. As a result, Mr. Chang has special insight into big company policies and practices, and has expertise in the areas of wage and hour law compliance. Since transitioning to plaintiff-side employment litigation, he has represented hundreds of clients from pre-litigation negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, to trial and arbitration against Fortune 500 companies. Over the course of his employment law practice, Mr. Chang has secured seven-figure results and millions of dollars in settlements.
Mr. Chang earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California Riverside in 1993 and received his Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law in 1997. He completed externships with the Los Angeles City Land Use Division (1996) and United States Bankruptcy Court (1997).
Mr. Chang is active in the legal community and is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. He is admitted to practice in all California state courts and the United States District Courts in the Northern, Central, Southern, and Eastern Districts.
Outside of the office, Mr. Chang enjoys family time, chess, and watching Formula 1 races.
